WMI (1–3): 1FA/1FM/1FT (US cars, MPVs, trucks), 1FD (heavier trucks), 2FA/2FT (Canada), 3FA (Mexico).
Position 8, engine code.
Positions 5–7, line and body (F-150, Explorer, Escape, Mustang).
Position 10, model year.
